Paperless document

Imagine if all of the documents that your office is receiving will be filed in a folder and kept in a room.  How many rooms do you think is needed to keep all of the documents?  What if lots of new documents are being received everyday?  What if you are going to retrieve a file which is 10 years old? Would you still be able to read the information written there?

Good thing, we are now living in modern society.  Documents scanner software are created to scan the document and store it in your system for easy access.  You can also retrieve the needed document in just few seconds using the system protocol to access a file without going through a lot of hassle.  Everything is becoming so fast and easy.

How to choose the good wine

There are a lot of wines available in the market and I think a lot of us don’t know how to choose the good one. There are red and white wines classified as sweet, dry and sparkling. Its alcohol content varies as well – which ranges from 7.5 to 12% and over. The basic that I know about wine is that you drink red wine when you are eating red meat and white wine when you are eating white meat.

I come across with an article about how to choose wine, and I listed some of them as follows:
1. Read the wine label – it will help you know the type, variety, flavour, region, brand, sometimes food pairing suggestions, and vintage of the wine. There are wine label which includes Wine grades- the higher the rating, the better the wine. A quality wine has more than 80 points.
2. When was the wine made? – According to the author of the article, there are certain years that produce better wines than others depending on the weather during the year when grapes are close to harvest time. He said that it is believed that 1990 was a great year for all wine – so choose wine which was manufactured in 1990. Sometimes it’s not true that the older wine is the better wine, especially if it was produced during bad vintage.
3. Where to buy? – buy from store which takes proper care of the wine. Wine is affected by extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
4.  wine barrels used for ageing process – Oak barrels used for ageing process imparts a good wine flavour
5. Are there leakage? – Inspect the bottle of the wine and make sure that it is filed up to the neck of the bottle, the cork is intact and there are no signs of leakage.

Hope that these tips would both of us to decide which one to choose whenever we buy one.

Inspired by the movie, Julie and Julia

I was inspired to cook after I watched the old movie, Julie and Julia, wherein the characters were both learning to cook and they turned writer and turned celebrity.  Of course, I don’t dream to be a celebrity because of my cooking, I just want to cook the right way.

Having said this, I bought cookbooks so that I can start cooking, my goal is to cook all healthful food. Food which is not just delicious but it should nourish and heal. One must understand that a lot of foods today are packed with preservatives,trans-fat, GMO ingredients, flavorings, etc.  So for now, I must decide when to start  :-D and I’ll learn how to poach egg first.

here it is!

Lesson from the movie – egg should be fresh so that its albumin (white part) is presentable.

How to poach egg:
1. Boil water for 2-3 minutes
2. Crack the shell of the egg and drop its content into the boiling water till cooked
3. Serve the poached egg.

Sky Adventure at Crowne Regency in Cebu

This post is a year and a half overdue.  I went in Cebu in December 2008 not knowing that it would be the grand opening of Crowne Regency’s Sky Adventure.  I am proud to say that I am one of the first few people who rode the Sky Coaster, I was not able to experience sky walk though. The reason? I just had my stem cell surgery so it was still fresh and I would say I almost missed the fun.   So with all the mask and cap, I had lunch and dine with my friends and guests in Crowne Regency. Thanks to my friend, Luzette for the access to free buffet lunch and dinner, we were personally invited by the president, Mr. Richard King.  It was a trip with all the fun with very little expense.   Free airfare at Cebu Pacific, as in zero; and minimal hotel fee because a friend bought a condotel owner’s cuopon for a low price.  When God blesses He really gives it all.  When you happen to set your foot in Cebu, your trip will not be complete if you don’t experience Crowne Regency’s Skywalk and Sky Coaster.   Get yourself some thrill, fun and excitement!

Globe tattoo and the world wide web

Globe Tatoo USB broadband modem which costs around Php900 (USD20)

I so love Globe tattoo! It gives me access to the world wide web for 24 hours at Php50 (USD1.11) only . To avail of this great offer, register SUPERSURF50 and send it to 8888. You’ll receive a notification that you may start using the unlimited surfing for 24 hours. It’s nice to those who don’t have post paid internet connection at home. It’s very economical because you only get to pay when you want to use it unlike having a post-paid internet connection. You pay the same amount whether or not you connect to the internet. Since I’m only using it on weekends, I only allocate Php200 (USD4.44) monthly for internet usage. Isn’t it cool and economical?

With my Php200 investment for internet I can talk with my friends who are also online right at the comfort of my bed, I can update myself what has been happening around the world, I can add entry to my blog and the best part of it is I can now upload photos without fearing that my USB flashdrive or storage device would be damaged by virus because my personal computer is free of those things, I can see beautiful places all around the world, I can book flight, I can shop and sell online, I can download movies, I get to learn some new things, and I can do a lot more other things.

I should say that with Globe tattoo, everything online is possible LOL.

My latest cooking invention

It looks delicious, isn’t it?

I can cook.  Maybe not that well but I can and it can get so delicious sometimes. I learned to cook 2 years ago when I thought someday I would be the best wife who would serve the best meal to her husband :-D and still dreaming about that. I discovered that the basic of cooking is sauteeing, boiling and burning LOL.  In cooking, imagination is your only limit. You can experiment and mix all the ingredients that you see and discover how it would taste later on.  One of my latest cooking invention is a fish steak (I used blue marlin) which I fried in butter together with lots of garlic, onion and ginger and I think it was one of the best that I ever cooked. :-)
