I’m not a registered voter yet. Well, i tried to register last Saturday when Barangay UP Campus organized a registration day last Friday and Saturday but nothing happened to me. I was at the barangay hall from about 9AM til 3PM but it was not planned well so it was successful. A lot of the people who want to register went hope not happy.
Now, I think I understand why a lot of Filipinos are not registered voters especially those who are working. They can’t afford to waste time. I believe Comelec has to improve its system and make the registration procedure fast and efficiently so that more working Filipinos will be encouraged to register and be able to vote come May 2010. Registration schedule in Comelec office is Mondays to Wednesdays.
Here are some document that one needs to present to Comelec when registering:
- photocopy of any valid ID (any government issued ID, school ID with address)
