It’s true that you need to lose something so that it will be replaced with better, new and more beautiful thing. I have so many episodes of losing things, including money, K-swiss rubber shoes, sandals, slippers and a nice bag in a cab; a boyfriend and just recently, a digicam case. It was sad at first but after realizing that God has greater plan why things happen and after reading John Maxwell’s books saying that in order for you to receive the best you need to give up the good things. I agree with it. God only knows what’s best so whatever it is that you are going through, there is a reason behind it. So just chill and leave it to God. After all His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

Just like my camera case, when I lost it recently, I cried because I’ve been careless – I did not inspect my things before I alighted the cab. I just needed to realize that I can replace it with new and better one and I got over it.

When you are about to give up…

There are times when life is not so easy especially when major problems arise, and you wish that situation did not come to your life so that you don’t have to struggle but guess what, problems will always come, there will always be hardship, there will always be plateu. Life would not be exciting and challenging without them. It will not be a success if nothing is to be conquered. You will not be stretched if there is no challenge. You will not be a winner without a fight. One thing that we always think during times of trouble, when relationship is not getting better, when we think that something doesn’t work, when we think that we are not fit – to give up. And what do you get when you give up? what do you learn from it? You get nothing, you accomplish nothing, you become bitter and you become a loser. Unlike when you feel that things are not getting better and you fight against it and endure, you will be stronger and you will be a winner. Hardship, trial and tests were created so that our character may be developed and in the process we become a better person.

Romans 5: 3-5
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

When you are about to give up, endure. Take few more steps, wait for a couple more minutes — you’ll never know, a breakthrough is one breath away.

It’s nice to be attending and hearing God’s Words and revelations. It change lives, bring healing, repentance and revival. Knowing that you’re saved from hell because of what Jesus has done is and because of this we can have abundant and fruitful life is worth sharing. Having beautiful friends with big heart is a bonus.

Test and conquest

With all the adversities and challenges that we face everyday, sometimes we forget that the Lord wouldn’t give it to us if we couldn’t overcome it. The Lord tests our faith and character so that we can be promoted to the next level. We can’t cheat the test, we need to pass it. We cannot tell God not to give us test otherwise there will be no growth, no victory, no testimony, no conquest and we will stay where we are. It’s sad to hear when someone tells that he did not pass the test, and he would start back at square one and repeat the same process. Why not pass the test and move on to the next level? It’s difficult to start all over again.

In everything that we do, test will always come so that we may conquer it. When we give up, we lose and we fail. When we allow the negative things to affect us, we fail; when we allow our past mistake to crowd our mind, we fail; when we allow frustration, hurt and disappointment, and resentment to affect us, we fail. When we let fear due to past failure get back to us, we become paralyze and we fail to act. The antidote to all of these is to look at the promises that God have given us. Jeremiah 29: 11 (NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” and Philippians 4: 13 (NIV)says “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” In order for us to win the battle we should trust God. We don’t rely on ourself, because our strength is limited. Besides, whatever happened to us, God has purpose and He wants us to learn lesson out of it. But let me also remind you that we have free will, therefore, we can choose to do what is right and pleasing to His sight. When things go wrong, we can always go back to Him and He will ready to forgive, just make sure not to commit the same mistake again.

Whatever it is that we are going through, He can keep us from falling when we trust Him and when we call on His name. He will always be ready to save us and help us to be victorious and fulfill the destiny that He has for us.

This song reminds me that God never change, that’s why I have decided, I’ll go back to Him. He is the only one who can give me real joy, satisfaction and success. And so I repent for all the things that I did which do not glorify Him.

Today’s learning

I would like to live in God’s presence and experience His miracles. I want His will be done in my life and not my own will. It’s difficult to be away from God, it means struggle, hurt and all the negative things that one can think about. Just this morning while reading a book written by John Maxwell, one of the phrases that caught my attention was this: "You need to give up something good if you would like to receive the best" He enumerated personalities in the Bible who gave up something in their life that made them successful and great man of God. Examples were 1. Moses who gave up his throne so that he may become Israelites deliverer 2. Paul who gave up his past successes and accomplishments to become a great man of God, and many other who have risen and became great because they gave up something so that God can work in them.

Today, I am declaring – revival will start in me. I’ll give up what’s good that I may receive God’s best for me.

It feels so different

I feel so detached to the world where I currently live. My schedule is opposite to my place’s schedule, I am awake when everyone’s else is asleep and I sleep when everyone else is awake. I eat breakfast at night, eat lunch at dawn and dinner in the morning. I think my body is getting confused. It has created its own time zone different from what it used to have. Having said this, I don’t think my body still produces the correct hormones that it needs to generate so that it would function well. Its blood count which used to be healthy became adequate in number, it’s weight which used to be ideal has decreased to almost underweight – much must weight loss that I was able to wear my Levi’s pants which I bought 10 years ago, my ring is so loose that it moves up to the middle of the finger, the watch which used to be fitted perfectly in my wrist can now be moved. It’s just feels so different. On the positive side, one of my friends told me how she wish she has a body just like mine LOL.

Stressed?

My friend commented that with the work schedule that I have, I don’t look stressed at all. I think that is flattery LOL. I guess the reason why she said that is that even though I work at night I can still do a lot of things, and I still have a lot of energy.

I guess, it’s mind over matter. Your body will show that you are stress when you think about it and people around you would notice that, everything is affected by what you think, how you perceive things and how you act to the stimulus around you. You can make things happen. You can choose what to believe, you can choose what to do, you can choose whom to go with and make friends with, you can choose to love or to drift away from the relationship, and you can choose whom you want to be your life partner. Every decision is yours so decide wisely because your decision today would affect your life tomorrow.

Reminder

Why is it good to be always reminded?

Some people like to be reminded but some are not. People tend to forget and in order for us to remember things, a reminder is a must. Reading the bible is one of the best reminders that people can get. It would always reminds how God loves each of us, reminds us of His promises, reminds us that He is always near whenever we call Him and reminds us that whoever we are, we are special in His eyes.

How would you like to be reminded that you are special, loved and cherished?

I love it how my employer appreciates it employees. There are so many employees but the company made an effort to let its employees know that everyone has a good future in the company. All employees who have performed excellently were given award. What a nice motivation.

Traffic Enforcers in Manila

Traffic enforcers

I had 2 hours of sleep due to excitement to go home. I left the house at 4AM and was able to ride on a cab with a very nice driver, i thought my day has started so great until I reached the skyway. I had a fight with a traffic enforcer!

There was no conspicous notice that skyway to Terminal 3 is closed until near the tollgate. The taxi driver started to reverse so that we could go through another route. We were hoping there’s no traffic enforcer because nobody has informed us earlier. However, when you are in Manila, traffic enforcer would appear right after you commit a traffic violation, they are apparently hiding to trap you and make a mistake so that a bribe can be taken (from those who would give in). It’s been always the pattern for most of them, they appear like a genie with a ticket to be issued.:-(, not a wish list to be granted…

The traffic enforcer was telling that there was sign that tollgate is closed but it’s not even visible so I had to argue with him that we would have not proceed had we seen the sign. He was telling the driver to give him his license, which is not right because there was no signage anyway. When I began to ask him why was he not there earlier to give the motorists instruction that tollgate is closed and just appeared after we have gone down, suddenly calmed down and eventually allowed us to go on our way without further insisting on getting the driver’s license. The usual Php220 taxi rate to terminal 3 from my place became Php270. Anyway, I hope traffic enforcers would realize that their duty is to guide the motorists and ease traffic.
