According to an article on yahoo, one of the hottest career that one can pursue in health care industry is into Occupational Therapist Assistant Jobs. The average income that an Occupational Therapist Assistant can get is around $51,000 depending on location of work, employer, experience and gender.

What does an Occupational Therapist Assistant do? They provide services to people who are mentally, physically, emotionally and/or developmentally impaired due to injury or illness. They assist these people with their daily exercise regimes, teaching them skills so they can function independently given their condition, thus, increase the quality of their life. Having a work to help another person to make his/her life worth living should be a great job that one can have. I believe this job is not easy as it will require skills, knowledge, deep concern/care to another person and so much patience. Not all people have these characteristics, so blessed are those who have the ability to give care.

I already received my certificate from University of Massachusetts Amherst for 401K Certification and Training Program. It’s an online Continuing Professional Education course which is for 8 units.

I am happy to announce that I am now a 401K certified after long hours of reading things about how 401K account works and taking 50-item long exam. Thanks to my buddy, Florenz for making it possible. I got 92% rating on the exam.

Do you have the best job?

Can you honestly say that the job you have right now is the best? How can you really say it’s the best job? I often read and hear that you have the best job if you are enjoying it, you are growing personally and professionally, and your heart is into it. Does receiving more money means you’ve gotten the best job? To me, the best job is when your talent and gifts are being utilized and it impacts people’s lives and you are happy doing it, then you have the best job in the world. No amount of money can fill in the emptiness in your heart if you are doing a boring job.

Each person has different perspetive on having the best job, though. There are people who are fulfilled in their field of work, who fit in and do well in sales jobs, management jobs, hospitality jobs, health care, business, teaching jobs, etc. Whatever field you are into at, I believe it’s a matter of perspective. Only you can decide whether you are having the best job or not.

I love it how my employer appreciates it employees. There are so many employees but the company made an effort to let its employees know that everyone has a good future in the company. All employees who have performed excellently were given award. What a nice motivation.

Dreaming of becoming a lawyer?

When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming either a lawyer or doctor but none of them happen, I became a nurse instead, who knows, I might be a doctor, or maybe wife of a doctor? LOL

Going on further studies require discipline and hardwork, one has to be very determined o reach what he/she wants to become. It means long time of reading and studying, sacrificing some social life and focusing on things that you want to achieve. For those who are going to study medicine, for example, they undergo preparation and take medical school admission test to qualify to be able enter to a medical school; to those who are going to study law, there is also law school admission test (lsat) and students have to undergo lsat prep courses.

Just last month, result of the BAR exam has been published and it’s nice to know that there are friends and acquaintances who were able to make it. I congratulate them!

I just learned yesterday that one of my former officemates is now handling a key position in one of the largest malls in Bicol. I’m so happy for him. It’s nice to hear when someone whom you have seen how the career has started was able to climb up the ladder of success in his field and you have become a part of it. It’s just simply awesome. When you were still deciding what course or degree you are going to pursue, have you asked yourself what would be the best career when you finish what you have studied in college? Many of us would usually decide that the best course to be taken would be one that would make us work for a wealthy company and get a high paying job as well, many would choose to study in a school which claims to be the best school in town. But what are the best careers to be considered after one has graduated from school? Would it be in IT industry? health care industry? hospitality industry? real estate industry? food industry? having your own business? etc. Well, when you look at these industries, you see that there are people coming from each field who are successful and well-known. I think, success on your career does not depend onthe course or school that you chose. Your success will depend on what you believe you can achieve and working towards your goal with determination, focus and lots of faith and courage.
