I used to play ukelele when I was a kid, and I was always looking forward to playing an acoustic guitar because it is much much nicer and cooler to use.  I had my first acoustic guitar a few years ago and it was nice, I learned how to play it but I didn’t become an expert.

I admire people who can play an acoustic guitar well.  They play it as if it’s so easy to do.  And to those who are beginners like me, see this wonderful video that I found about the basics to playing an acoustic guitar.

Some of the criteria that you need to look for in acoustic guitars are the following:

- Tuning machine
- Bridge and Fingerboard
- Finish

These breeches have different purpose and use, made from different materials and with different designs too.  There are breeches which are suitably worn for pleasure riding, endurance riding, and there are breeches worn for stadium jumping.

Here’s more to the breeches, the color is so important during the competition.  That’s the reason why we usually see white, beige, light gray, rust, tan, and olive-greenish color during equestrian events.  The reason is that these colors appear to be quiet, classic and conservative and that’s how the sanctioning organizations and tradition want it to be.

I have come across with an article saying that the idea of a man giving diamond engagement ring to a future brides was due to the marketing strategy of De Beers to increase its diamond sales in the early 20th century.  In the 1930’s, according to the article, a man should spend an equivalent of 1 month salary for diamond engagement rings and later on it was increased to 2 months salary.  From then on, it has been a trend that whenever a man proposes marriage, he should have a diamond engagement ring ready to be given to his future wife.

This building is one of the world’s famous beautifuly created metal buildings. Could you imagine how many tons of metals and steels were used to build this? It is called the Beijing National Stadium or famous for Bird’s Nest built for the Olympics 2008 and costs $425million. The building was a joint venture among architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, project architect Stefan Marbach, artist Ai Weiwei, and CADG which was led by chief architect Li Xinggang. The building was constructed approximately within 5 years.

When I was still working as technical assistant, I had an opportunity to work on hydroponics products, got a chance to grow plants indoor using hydroponics technology and it was cool. It was growing plants without using soil – only water, nutrients and hydroponics equipment. But one thing was missing in my experiment – floodlights. Although there was fluorescent lamp but it was not enough.  Flowering plants did not produce beautiful, big and colorful flowers; ornamental plants’ leaves were not as green compared to leafy plants grown outdoor. The tomatoes which I planted did not bear fruit, they grew so tall and the stems were really thin and weak.

In planting indoor, one needs appropriate floodlights so that the plants’ photosynthesis could be supported and in return would give you the result that you wanted.  For all indoor plants – be it hydroponics, normal plant or greenhouses, floodlights are needed to support the plants’ needs.

After about a year when I was attending review for licensure exam, I finally discovered what has caused my hair loss.  The teacher said massive hair fall, which would last for about 2-3 months, usually happens after typhoid fever and that’s normal body reaction.   That answered the puzzle about the hair loss that I experienced because prior to my hair fall, I just had typhoid fever and dengue simultaneously.

There are people who love smoking, but then, it’s not healthy.  Health buff have invented some cigar that can be alternative to unhealthful cigarettes. There are organic cigarette without nicotine made from herbs, electronic cigarette which does not make use of real tobacco, and today I came across with a new type of cigar called Acid cigars.

Some people find pleasure in smoking, some find it way to de-stress, and some find it just cool to be smoking with peers otherwise they are not “in”.  But take note, whatever form it comes, it is still cigarette, therefore, be mindful of your health.
