One advice that I received from Dr. Grace is that, always go on a tour whenever you go to a new place/other country because you wouldn’t know if you could ever go back.
Therefore, I decided to grab a slot in Grayline Tours for a morning tour the following day (830AM-12:30AM), which brought us to the following places in Perth:
- The WACA – Western Australia cricket ground
- Visit Kings Park – spectacular views over Perth skyline, Perth River and Melville Water from the tree top walk
- Cottesloe Beach on the Indian Ocean coastline
- Stunning and historic Fremantle – docks, marinas, charming heritage sandstone buildings
- Take a break in Fremantle – perhaps a coffee on South Terrace’s cappuccino strip (own expense)
- Barrack Street Jetty
- The Swan Bell Tower
- Perth Mint – stunning sandstone colonial architecture
- Upmarket suburbs of Peppermint Grove and Dalkeith
- Old Swan Brewery and Royal Perth Yacht Club – once home to the America’s Cup.
We just passed by almost all of the abvelisted places; we were able to walk around Kings Park and Fremantle (where I left by the bus).
There are other companies that offer day tours as well, I found out that there is a 25AUD worth of tour which is called Ride On, Ride Off for one day, which will allow you to go to different places in Perth City, and it will be your decision where to visit and when to ride again as soon as another bus comes in.
You may also ride the city bus to bring you to the Zoo, King’s Park or any place you want to see, just be sure to ride on the right bus, and be sure you know your way back.
I wouldn’t have gone on a tour because it was quite expensive at UAD75 (Php2400) for just 4 hours, but Dr. Grace told me, whenever she goes to a new place she would on a tour because she wouldn’t know if she will be able to go back, so she influenced me on this, and so I went on the tour. It was a very good experienced for me as the driver passed by some historic places in Perth City, the only things that I didn’t see are live Koalas and Kangaroos.
One thing I observe in Australia is that buildings don’t have security guards because doors are automated, people have to swipe their ID’s to be able to enter a building or they have remote control so that they can go inside parking area of the building.
There are no billboards/advertisement along the street that makes the place nice and beautiful. Perth is a blend of nature and city, you don’t have to go out of the city to see trees, inhale fresh air because it’s available right there.
