I wonder

Whenever I receive text messages or email offering products or services I wonder where those people get my mobile number and email address respectively.   Until one day I learned that companies buy leads from companies whose business is database. For example, if you are a postpaid account holder of a mobile company, or you are a credit card holder, your name can actually be sold as part of the database, or if you sign-up in an e-newsletter, your data can be stored and the newsletter’s database as well.   Those names in the data base can later be used or sold as insurance lead, or any other sales leads that is why you get an product/service offers via text or email.

All of us know that in order for a business to grow, it needs customer, therefore, its sales force needs leads where the customer will come from.  So, whenever you receive a text, email or call offering about product or service, you need not wonder how those people get your contact information.
