I am sure you want a house that is elder-friendly for your aging parents.  You don’t want your parents suffer when they go up the stairs especially when their joints are already aching.

An escalator or elevator might be too expensive for you to have it installed at home, it would cost you probably thousands of dollars. I don’t think a pulley installed on the ceiling of your house would be a nice sight.
