December 25th, 2011 at 12 MN. I was awaken by the noisy firecrackers and loud music from the neighborhood. It’s Christmas time! Woohoo! But I’m alone because I didn’t go home or went to a friend’s house to celebrate Christmas. I remember last year, I was not home too. I was at the airport because the plane was not able to land due to heavy downpour of the rain that day. I spent my Christmas eve at the airport and slept there too.
Usually at this time, Noche Buena is served. At home, we would have pasta and pansit-bihon (noodles), bread, biko (glutinousrice delicacy), buko (young coconut strips and fruits) salad, lechon (roasted pork), cake, etc. After the Noche Buena, we would give gifts (if there is any) to my nieces and nephews.
Today, since I am alone, Samba (sounds like Santa?) accompanied me on Noche Buena time.
Last time when I went home, and I flew via AirPhilippines which is at NAIA Terminal 3, I noticed that the building has a prayer room – for Muslims. I tried to look around to find if there was a prayer room for Christians too but to no avail. Good thing that Christians can pray anywhere because we have an Omnipresent God.
When I flew via ZestAir recently, I was overjoyed to see that Manila Domestic Airport has a prayer room too – for Christians!
It’s winter time in the countries with four seasons in a year! It must be a good time for skiing and snowboarding, too. I hope that soon (very soon or the next winter season) I can experience playing or having fun in the snow. ( Next destination: Michigan! Would you be generous with snow once I get there?:-))

I have always wanted to learn how to to play a guitar since I was a child. I know that they keys are quite challenging and sometimes the strings can cut your fingers too while you are learning to play it.
I used to play ukelele when I was a kid, and I was always looking forward to playing an acoustic guitar because it is much much nicer and cooler to use. I had my first acoustic guitar a few years ago and it was nice, I learned how to play it but I didn’t become an expert.
I admire people who can play an acoustic guitar well. They play it as if it’s so easy to do. And to those who are beginners like me, see this wonderful video that I found about the basics to playing an acoustic guitar.

In my opinion, kids should not be given with toys that will cause them to be inactive such as computer games, and other games that are being played by using electronic gadgets. Kids are so energetic and they should move to to express the energy that they have. Therefore, the kids games should be something that will make then active.

Shabu-shabu is a healthy Japanese food with soup, vegetables, and seafood or meat. It’s a complete food, less the oil. The experience is nice as you will have to cook it yourself. Therefore, if you don’t know how to cook, going to a shabu-shabu restaurant would be a nice start.
In making the shabu-shabu meal, I put in the tubers root first because they need to be boiled very well, corn and other hard ingredients, meat (if you are having meat shabu-shabu, but if it’s a seafood shabu-shabu, I would put in the seafood together with the vegetables), the leafy vegetables and the egg white. The staff are friendly enough to help you cook it. One order of shabu-shabu is good for two persons and it costs around Php700 only ($18).
