Salak, fruit in Indonesia

Salak
These fruits are called Salak, about 1 inch diameter and 1.5 inches long with rough texture. Salak is native to Indonesia and Malaysia that belongs in palm family. Out of curiosity, I pick up one of these fruits in my hotel room in Bali, Indonesia.
Upon opening Salak, I saw that the content is very much like the lanzones (photo to follow) here in the Philippines, with clove-like structure. In comparison to lanzones, however, salak is harder and tastes with a tinge of pineapple and with texture like that of an apple.
