The Korean Way

I had a great day today.  I had my dinner in Korean restaurant here in Boracay, TONGYANG, located at ground level of Boracay Regency Hotel.  It was my second time to eat Korean food but my first time to eat with Koreans, Max and Mrs Kim, the owner of the restaurant.

It was a great experience, she taught us how to eat food the Korean way way and she also taught us that when an older Korean gives you something, you should always accept it using your two hands to show respect.  It was nice knowing other Asian values and cultures. It makes me think that Filipino values and cultures should be taught to young ones as well so that good traits of Filipinos will not be lost.Anyway, going back to Korean experience, Mrs Kim cooked bibimbap. Bibimbap is rice, vegetables, spices and other Korean dishes mixed altogether.

I also have my first shot of Korean rice wine, Soju, it’s quite strong that you have to eat Kimchi after drinking it. In Korean way, you say combe (i am not sure if this is the right spelling :-) ) for cheers. It is 25 proof or 12.5% alcohol, just like any other wine.

It was a great experience eating Korean food using chopsticks together with Korean people. Thanks to my new friends Mrs Kim, Max and of course my partners and friends Arelle and Luzette. We had a great dinner together.

Combe! Ooops… please don’t think that we finished those bottles, we just had a shot :-)

Bibimbap was yummy! Thanks to Mrs Kim

Aren’t we so blessed? And living a grand life working here in Boracay?

    Life is great isn’t?
